Ethics Code

I have always worked hard to strive toward success. My hard-working mentality shows through in my strong ethics. I hold myself accountable in every way and live my life ethically. To be a great journalist, I first have to be a great person. My ethics code is a set of rules and standards I live by to become better every single day.

Accuracy

As a journalist, one of the most important things to keep in mind while writing is accuracy.

I will always hold myself to the highest standard when it comes to accuracy and strive to report as accurately as possible.

Honesty

Along the same lines as accuracy, honesty is very important to journalists.

I will always be truthful in my writing and in my everyday life.

Fairness

Fairness and equality are very important to me as a person. I believe in the golden rule that everyone should be respected equally. I will strive to demonstrate fairness in my writing and give every story a fair shake.

Objectivity

As a sports reporter, objectivity matters.

I will stay objective and only write the facts. My personal views and standings will not influence my writing or how I cover my beats.

Teamwork

Writing for sports has taught me the importance of teamwork. For a paper to run smoothly, everyone has to work together well. I will strive to be a good team player and help those around me succeed.
