I was editor of the sports section for the Iowa State Daily in the summer of 2022 and took over as sports editor in March of 2023. I had experience managing reporters and coming up with story ideas. I also worked around the clock to make sure there was always content getting published. Lastly, I edited every sports story that came through the desk to make sure it was up to our standards.

I freelanced for amNY during the 2022 football season. I released one article a week, previewing upcoming Iowa State games and providing analysis.
Iowa Barnstormers - Social Media Intern
March 2024 - August 2024
I interned with the Iowa Barnstormers over the summer of 2024 doing social media. I was in charge of filming content for their various social media accounts, while also helping run all the events and setting up the stadium for game days. For the first half of the internship I was in charge of shooting pictures and filming video clips of the mascot during games. For the second half, I was in charge of filming game content.
Carroll Times Herald - Sports Reporter
May 2024 - January 2025
I interned as a sports reporter at the Carroll Times Herald over the summer of 2024. As an intern, I took on all the responsibilities of the sports editor at the Carroll Times Herald and the Jefferson Herald. I was in charge of planning content, writing all the sports stories and covering all eight of the area schools. I also honed my photojournalism skills, as I had to shoot and edit nearly all the sports photos for the papers.

I went back to school to get my degree in journalism so I could pursue sports writing. I gained many basic journalism skills, such as writing articles, editing, feature writing and content production. I have tried to cast a wide net on skills I'm developing. I took classes in photography, video editing, podcasting and sports media.

I originally went to school for engineering, completing my four-year degree in computer engineering. I focused mainly on the software side, learning how to code in various languages. The main takeaway from my degree was how to develop great teamwork and stay organized.
